Spring has finally arrived on the Wasatch Front – although we still have a few cold days ahead of us. After one of the coldest winters since 1949 (!) I am ready to get outside and start sprucing up and repairing any winter damage. In addition to my own home, I also give my mom’s home a good going over each spring to repair and maintain anything that needs a little attention. This month I am installing a new side door for her and rebuilding her front steps since the old ones have seen far better days.
My brother is moving to a new home, one of my sisters tells me that she is planning to remodel a spare bedroom so her daughter can have her own room, and another sister is completely remodeling the second kitchen in her basement so she has a place to make her handmade soap and do her canning away from the busy family meal area.
So, this week I was wondering what all of you are doing to thaw out from the Utah winter and brighten up your homes. Do you have any spring projects planned to get your backyard ready for spring? Is it finally time to put in sprinklers or stain your deck? Post your comments below and share your spring home improvement plans with us – whether they be large or small projects.
